This is a walker that I'm working on at the moment that is based on Theo Jansen's walking mechanism (If you dont know who Theo Jansen is you should have a look at some videos of his work, he creates huge walking machines powered by the wind). In this video only one pair of legs is motorized, eventually it will have two gearboxes powering two pairs of legs. I'm doing this because I'm aiming to give it the ability to turn like most two wheeled robots and forklifts (left motor on+right motor off=turning to the right and left motor off+right motor on=turning to the left). It's not going to have a very complicated controller at all, it will simply have four wires coming out the back (two for each motor) and at the controllers end two DP3T switches that will be used as joysticks reversing the polarity to the motors which will then reverse the direction of the legs.

Popular strategic shooter Geometry Wars has invaded the iPad. In this review I show you how it looks and describe how it feels to play this Xbox Live favorite on the iPad. I'm disadvantaged in that this is my very first time to play Geometry Wars (where have I been, right?), but the controls are very intuitive, and it takes me no time at all to pick it up. The graphics of Geometry Wars look amazing on the iPad's display (and I've read that they've actually been enhanced specifically for the iPad). The touch controls feel just like using twin joysticks as with the Xbox 360. It's a really fun game most people have already discovered and the iPad just makes it more fun. Enjoy!

Normally, we would just stick with C, however Labview has much more benefits. The robot is driving with two joysticks in "tank" control, but strafing control (x-axis) is mixed with the tank control. I recently built this Bubble Bobble themed bartop arcade cabinet. This is the same specification as the MEGACADE cabinet (see www.youtube.com but it has 2 sets of controls and each set has 6 buttons instead of 4. The cabinet is constructed entirely of 12mm MDF with 3mm clear acrylic for the marquee and bezel. This is a bartop sized arcade cabinet, overall size is 475mm wide x 540mm high x 450mm deep. For the internals, I have a motherboard and PSU from an original Xbox. For the control panel, I have adapted 2 Xbox controllers to provide an interface to the arcade buttons and joysticks. I really like the red Sanwa joysticks on this cabinet. The cabinet is fitted with 100W power amplifier, stereo speakers/tweeters, 12V strip light (for the backlit marquee), 17" LCD Monitor, AV to VGA converter box (to convert video output from Xbox to VGA). I designed the control panel and included a Bubble Bobble monster information sheet (at the top) and logos for Bubblin and Taito (at the bottom). The marquee is as per the original arcade but background is changed to black. The Xbox has been soft-modded to run Unleash-X and Coinops. I have created a custom Bubble Bobble skin with a Bubble Bobble soundtrack. Midnight Resistance on the Amstrad CPC - longplay through to completion (no life lost) and review/commentary! A popular run 'n' gun coin-op gets an above-average/decent conversion to the Amstrad ... although it's a Speccy port it plays OK and surprisingly faithful to the arcade original. Robotron was available in both upright and cocktail format, with the cocktail cabinet being fairly rare. The alternate cabinets also had different graphics (at least the color scheme was different), and are much more difficult to find replacement graphics for. Well here is the footage that I took last week of the new Superior Pak Raptors. They are far superior to the previous Superior Pak models. The truck was getting full, thats why the MJ in the other video was helping out, there is a bit of manual packing as well towards the end of the video. They have electronic controls, better joysticks, and a canbus style computer self diagnostic system. When I took these videos the trucks had only been in service so they were brand new! I talked to the new driver and he's cool with me filming and is also a nice driver too! I talked to him and asked him how he liked the new trucks. He said that they were good, just a little slow. There is no signage on these trucks as they were due in July to be put into service, however there were problems with the roadworthiness of the current fleet and some of the trucks had to be taken of the road and fixed, they are now roadworthy and are being put them back into service. These trucks are new 29m Superior Pak Raptors. Sita won (It was renewed) the contract to collect Brisbane's waste for a further 8 years from July 2010, to July 2018, so the new contract will come in on July along with a new garden waste service offered by the council. Anyway there is no signage as the trucks were put into service 4 months before they were meant to, so the signage should be going on soon. 24 new trucks were put into service immediately on the 29/3/2010 so that the garbage collections would not be interrupted while ...

Custom built arcade machine. The man in charge of this project is a huge Hartford Whalers fan, so the artwork on this machine was designed to reflect that. This machine has four 8-way joysticks with seven buttons for each. It also has a 4-way joystick as well as a trackball and a spinner. All buttons, joysticks and even the trackball are illuminated via backlit LED system which can be programmed via software.
