Nvidia has announced plans to produce its own hand-held video-games console. Project Shield is Android-based and marries a 5in (12.7cm) touch-screen with joysticks, buttons and other controls, in a clam-shell design. It is also designed to link to PCs offering access to more powerful games such as those on the Steam library. The announcement was a surprise, as the US company has previously focused on selling chips and graphics cards to other manufacturers. Intel, another chip manufacturer, is also reportedly working on its own device - a television set-top box. Android apps Nvidia's announcement came at the first major press conference of this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The company's chief executive, Jen-Hsun Huang, did not reveal a release date or price for the device, but he did show off a working prototype and outline its specifications. I attached my IControlPad to my Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 (rooted) I forced the installation of unavailable Modern Combat 3 (legally paid) and configured the (legally paid) USB/BT Jostick Center 6 AND his Touchscreen Addon to play the game via pad. The whole thing is running perfectly smooth.

Classic Game Room HD reviews the Sega Genesis 6-button Arcade Stick for the Sega Genesis video game console. This is a wonderful arcade joystick for the Sega Megadrive game system and is ideal for fighting games like Street Fighter II that use the six button layout. It has a fabulous arcade style joystick stick with a huge knob (hold your jokes!) perfect for gripping with your hand (watch it!). This joystick fighting controller for the MD is also ideal for games like Samurai Shodown, Twin Cobra and Air Diver. Ach ja, die guten alten Zeiten! Der Amiga war für mich ein sehr prägendes Unterhaltungssystem, was mich durch meine komplette Kindheit begleitet hat! Es handelt sich um das Spiel Moonstone aus dem Jahre 1991. Kaum zu glauben das dieses Spiel nicht indiziert worden ist, zumindest aus heutiger Sicht gesehen xD Moonstone ist ein Vorreiter der Gore-Games, es wird also ne Menge Blut fließen! Außerdem werde ich dafür einen original Nachbau des Amiga Joysticks benutzen, nur halt mit USB Anschluss, um das nötige Retro Feeling zu erlangen! Ich hoffe, das euch das Lets Play gefallen wird

25 years on, I decided to take up an old hobby - electronics. Whereas Z80 microprocessors were the leading edge 25 years ago, today, microcontrollers are the chip of choice. So I needed to define a simple project to grown my knowledge from zero. I took an analogy on a radio controlled vehicle and decided that was it. I would re-use an ancient joystick at one end and use even more ancient fischertechnik from my childhood days to put together a joystick controlled vehicle. At the joystick end I use 16F873 microcontroller to read the voltages on the joystick and crunch the values down to a command. for each motor I have forward, backward or stop plus a pulse width modulated power rating from 0 to 100%. The command is assembled in ASCII and then sent down the wire at 1200 baud (wireless to come shortly, hopefully) . At the fischertechnik vehicle end of the wire, a 16F627 microcontroller de-serialises the message, checks the header and payload, and if it checks out OK, sets the motors directions and speeds. This is repeated several times each second. For the pulse width modulated speed control, I use a second thread kicked off 5000 times a second to prvide the pulses. An L293D dual bridge driver powers the motors at about 7v from the 4.8v logic levels of the 16F627 chip. There are about 350 lines of assembler on the vehicle and about 250 on the joystick, most of which is defensive programming, error checking and trace. I didn't try to kill and collect everything, but I destroyed all structures and all but one vehicle. I used several saves for a clear run. There's some minor bugs in graphics, mostly in my tank when I'm inside it. However, these bugs don't affect gameplay in any way. From Wikipedia: "Ikari Warriors was the first to use rotary joysticks: those which could be rotated in addition to being pushed in eight directions". This feature is missing in c64 and Amiga versions. It would had been possible to make it work with keyboard. Some similarities with the c64 version: 1. Can't rotate the weapon or move sideways. 2. Good throws with grenades don't always come easy, because there isn't a separate button for throwing. 3. Ammunition is wasted when throwing and while entering/exiting vehicle. There's little chance of running out tough. Some differences in the Amiga version compared to c64: 1. Grenades and bullets have shorter range, but range can be increased when shooting/throwing diagonally. 2. Weapon range cannot be improved with an item and bullets won't pass through enemies. 3. Fragments from explosions have a greater damage radius in relation to play area (which is smaller in Amiga version). 4. In addition to mines, there's another type of trap which releases cluster rockets. 5. Player's tank is louder. NOTE: Doesn't work with more than 512kb of memory.
